There is no one-size-fits-all process when it comes to communicating stories or building digital products. A minimalist approach allows me to be agile while solving design problems.
In order to successfully solve a problem, you must first understand it. This requires an education around not only the problem itself, but the business and its users. Using research and discovery sessions allow for the right problems to surface.
After understanding the problem, the next step is to identify a solution. Exploring many paths is important, resisting the urge to implement the first one in favor of finding the best one. The divergent and convergent exploratory stages will prove to be most valuable in this process.
Using the research and data collected, I will begin to define a strategy and translate the chosen solution into a tangible prototype. With this, I facilitate usability tests and quickly put the solution in the hands of real humans for validation.
